A DAY TO REMEMBER at Warped Tour! ♥

A Day To Remember are by far one of my favourite bands these days.  So the fact that they played Warped Tour was so so amazing!  They have now released four records, their newest being, "What Seperates Me From You".  I am in love with this amazingly talented pop-core band as well as their newest album.

I think all aspects of "What Seperates Me From You" are fantastic, especially lyrically.  They are based off of true, deep-seeded emotion which the lead singer, Jeremy, explains as his most honest and personal writings to date.  "I know what the lyrics mean to me, but my hope is that our fans take away their own interpretation."  Simply amazing.  The packed crowd was full of excited fans ready to mosh.  I have nothing but great things to say about this band!

Line of the show:  "I want a circle pit all the way to the back!  Now remember, you don't have to participate.. just GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!"  bahahaha...

A DAY TO REMEMBER made Warped Tour a day to remember. ;)
In love.

ill boys. ♥

The illScarlett boys took the stage after Paramore at this year's Warped Tour!  Being from Missisauga, this show was practically a hometown show for them!  Even though this year's Warped was primarily a heavier line-up, there were still tons of people showing love towards the ill boys.  They rocked it, just like every other time I've seen them play.  They even played a new song!

The boys had a huge line-up at their tent for autographs after their set!  We waited for the crowd to die down a bit before checking in with the guys.  Swav was sweet enough to give me an illScarlett hat!  I actually love the hat so much! haha.. it's one of those caps that look good on everyone I think.  I sported it for the rest of the day!  :)

PARAMORE.

It always amazes me that such a powerful voice comes out of tiny, little Hayley Williams of Paramore.  They rocked an afternoon set at Warped Tour this year!  Regardless of their semi-recent member changes within the band, they are still kicking ass out there!  They played old and new songs, both of which I am in love with.  They were so high energy!  And it was entertaining to see Hayley running around on stage flinging her insanely bright red hair around!

They ended their set with a huge burst of bright orange confetti!  It was a great show!

Paramore is set to release their new album called, "Brand New Eyes" in September of this year.  They just released their video for their single, "Monster", which I happen to love.  Check it out!

Black Veil Brides at Warped Tour.

Before Warped Tour this year, I had never heard of Black Veil Brides.  But seeing the massive line-ups for their autograph signing and seeing a couple fans with their faces painted like the band, I knew I had to check them out.

They have elements of both rock and metal in their music and were actually quite good!  They are of course all covered in make-up and are oh-so-glamorous!  And the voice that comes out of the lead singer is so shocking!  He is such a skinny, younger looking guy that it blows you away when you hear this deep, smooth voice come out of him.  It's great though!  He also had broken ribs so I seriously commend this guy for getting up on stage anyways!

Black Veil Brides also just released a new album in June called, "Set The World On Fire".

Warped Tour 2011!

I hadn't been to Warped Tour in a couple years, but I must say, this year at Warped Tour was an absolute blast! (aside from me getting horribly sun-burnt of course, but that's my own fault).  The line-up was fantastic this year!

The first band we caught was AskingAlexandria.  They are a band that combines hardcore music with European Trance.  I had only started hearing about these guys shortly before Warped Tour but I've been hearing more and more about them since!  They're on their way up for sure.

The next band that we saw take stage was August Burns Red.  This hardcore band just released a new album back in June and did not disappoint at Warped Tour this year.

We then headed over to the Nintendo Stage to see Dance, Gavin Dance.  I had never heard of these guys before I found the to be incredible!  Apparently they formed out of the remains of two bands; Unknown and Ghost Runner on Third.  I'm definitely a huge fan of their singer; Johnny Craig as well the whole new double vocal thing now.

Set Your Goals was a band that I was looking forward to see play.  I have become obsessed with their song, "The Few That Remain" where they pair up with Hayley Williams from Paramore that is on their most recent album called, "This Will Be The Death Of Us".  It's pretty awesome!  The band ran out on stage to start their set by spraying the crowd with super soaker water guns!  They were so high-energy throughout their entire set, even at times jumping down off the stage to climb onto the barricade to be right in with the fans!  I had so much fun watching them play.

We then caught a couple songs of Attack Attack's set.  Despite the large amounts of criticism this band has gotten, they've been featured at Warped Tour for two years in a row now, they've been credited with creating their own genre called "crabcore" and are definitely on their way up!

More Warped Tour updates to come!

♥

Happy Canada Day!

So I'm obviously late on this but I will say, I had a pretty sweet Canada Day weekend this year!
Our good friend Daryl came home from the army to visit us for the long weekend!  We had so much fun.

We spent the Friday at the beach in Port Dover where it was just ridiculously hot and sunny and I got pretty much the worst sunburn ever.  But we had such a great day!

After we got back from Port Dover, we headed down to Bayfront Park in Hamilton to see their annual Canada Day firework display.  I never get tired of fireworks.. they're soo pretty!  It was a good show!  And we were all of course rockin' our red and white. :)

I hope everyone had a great Canada Day weekend!

KOA Camping!

KOA is a camping area that my friend Steph and her family have visited in Michigan for years.  Last year she decided to take us all there.  It was so much fun that we decided to go back again this year.  This year the group was Steph, Luke, Steve, Dan, Brian and I.

It is always such a fun time there.  We stay in cabins and there is tons of fun stuff to do while we're there (of course involving tons of drinking and drinking games).

The guys played tether ball.  We rented out banana bikes, which is always so much fun, lmao.  Don't knock it 'til you've tried it!  We had campfires every night and Dan of course brought his trusty sandwich maker so we could have delicious midnight grilled cheese sandwiches.  Yummm!  We also played a little croquet, hahaha.

The guys (and Steph), for some reason, also thought it would be hilarious to print out a life-size picture of Daryl's face and put it on a stuffed animal to carry around while we were camping ever since he wasn't able to come with us.  I more thought it was creepy and weird than anything else but they got a real kick out of it so whatever.

All I have to say is, I love my friends.  It was such a fun trip!

KO at The Casbah!

I forgot to add a mention about seeing KO at The Casbah a while back!

Rebel Emergency and Daniel Wesley opened for him that night.  All of acts were awesome!  I'm pretty sure I fell in love with Daniel Wesley that night, only to find out that he was married the next time I saw him play when I was out visiting a friend in Victoria, BC.  *tear*  So disappointing!  hahaha.

KO was so energetic though!  I love his stage presence.  He always just seems excited and so happy to be on stage performing!  And the crowd loves him!

He is such a sweetheart too!

MMVA's 2011! ♥

The Much Music Video Awards is something that Jenny and I have attended every single year since I can't even remember when.  This year was no exception!

We of course got our butts to Toronto in the afternoon to check out the sound checks that were to be happening throughout the day, checked in with Simple Plan and watched the paparazzi chase Lady Gaga around.

After a long afternoon out in the sun, we headed to Jack Astor's to grab some dinner and then to the hotel to get all dressed up to go to the show!  We didn't have wristbands this year because we figure we're getting too old to sit in the street for ages in line to wait for one.  Also, there was a time when overnight was sufficient.  The MMVA's just keep getting bigger and bigger every year so there are now people who camp out for DAYS or even a week before in order to ensure they get a wristband.  I, however, do not have time for that anymore! haha.  So we took our chances of getting a spot in the street.  This year was packed like no other.  I couldn't believe how insanely full the street was.  We're talkin' wall-to-wall people.. literally.

Regardless, while fans were arguing over who's spot was who's and other ridiculous things, we danced the night away in the crowd anyways and had a fantastic time doing it!  There were such great acts this year!  It was a phenomenal show!
