One Week.

Last night my roommates and I watched the movie, "One Week".  I was the only one who had not seen the movie already.  My roommates raved about this movie; are absolutely in love with it, where as for me, after watching it, I found that it was just meh.

The concept of the movie is great of course.  Joshua Jackson plays a guy who is about to get married and start a new life with his fiance when he finds out that he has stage four cancer.  He decides that there are some things in life that he has missed out on and feels the need to experience before he dies.  There is something missing that he needs to find.  Also, the fact that the film is set in, and was filmed all in Canada is another great thing about the movie.  There are tons of nature scenes of many many places scattered across Canada.

What I didn't like about the film though was how slowly it moved.  I found that it did get better as it went along but the first half is especially slow.  Also, the acting is not the greatest I found, especially in regards to Liane Balaban who plays his fiance.  There is a scene near the end especially that I feel deserved so much more emotion than what was there.  I won't ruin the movie by saying what scene.  But it seemed as though she was just saying the lines in my opinion.  Again, that's just my opinion.  I didn't hate the movie, but I just didn't love it either.  I wouldn't rush out to go buy it at all.

Although, one cool thing that I did find about the movie was that Emm Gryner was in the movie and so was a bunch of her music!  Emm Gryner is a Music Industry Arts graduate so that's kinda of exciting and inspiring to see her have her music in the movie.
