Jack's Mannequin! ♥

So Friday night, Jenny and I got to see one our favourite artists for the however many-eth time it's been, Jack's Mannequin!

A band called "Fun" opened.  They were pretty decent.  I like the band as a whole, but I didn't think that their singer was the greatest.  Then again he was pretty wasted, seeing as it was his birthday, haha.

Friday was no different from any other Jack's show.  Andrew did not disappoint!  I just absolutely LOVE watching his fingers fly across those keys on the piano.  He is such a great pianist.  There have been reviws in the past stating people's negative opinions about Andrew's performances, saying that he is boring on stage.  Whoever says that, clearly doesn't pay close enough attention.  Andrew McMahon is the furthest thing from boring on stage.  The energy and enthusiasm that he puts into playing that piano is just amazing!  He's always standing up and flying across those keys.  He just gets SO into his music!  It just excites me to watch him.  He even at some points climbs up on top of his piano and sings from on top of his piano until he takes a big leap off of it.

I went to the show with the hope of puchasing the "Dear Jack" dvd that has just recently come out, but they for some reason did not have them for sale at this show.  I will for sure have to stop at the store and pick it up really soon.  It just looks soo great!

I also went to this show with a mission in mind, which was thankfully fulfilled after the show. As I have mentioned before, I am working on a lift of "Kill The Messenger" for my Recording Engineering class at school. But when I checked to see if the piano sheetmusic that I had been using to learn the song matched the recording of the song, I found out that it was not the same. Soo, my plan was to ask Andrew after the show if there was a way that he knew of that I could get my hands on some sheet music that matched the recording or if he knew how I could go about learning it, aside from just doing it by ear. It was a mission and a half trying to find him after the show.. but we some how did. I asked him my question and he unfortunately told me that he wasn't really sure about what I could do about that. He explained that the sheet music that I have is a vocal rendition of the song, which I already knew, but seemed very interested in what I was doing and did his best to help. He appologized for not being able to help more. It was really sweet. So, although asking him didn't really solve my problem, I'm glad that I did so at least now I know that even the writer of the song wasn't sure of what I should do for my predicament. But I thank Andrew for listening so intently and attempting to help in the best way he knew how.

Again, such an amazing show.. and such a fun time after the show!

It for sure will not be the last time I see Jack's Mannequin live!
